Special Education

On behalf of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Division of Special Education, Psychological Services/Educationally Related Intensive Counseling Services (ERICS), parents are invited to participate in Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) virtual workshops. The purpose of PCT is to offer parents/guardians information on child development, to enhance their knowledge and understanding of their child’s learning and social-emotional needs, and to assist them in acquiring skills to support the implementation of their child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). PCT workshops are free of cost, and we invite parents/guardians to participate virtually. 

PCT Workshop Topics:
•    Parenting strategies using research on children’s brain development
•    Social and emotional well-being using research-based practices
•    Listening and responding to your child with guidance and positive discipline 
•    Building a relationship between home and school
